Diego Luna & Gael García Bernal On Bringing Their Friendship To The Small Screen In ‘La Máquina’

Gael García Bernal and Diego Luna are bringing their friendship to the small screen! The two real-life besties teamed up again to produce and star in “La Máquina,” Hulu’s first original Spanish-language series. “Estamos muy contentos,” Diego told Access Hollywood in Spanish, which translates to “we are very happy” in English. “It’s good news that it’s happening and privilege to have the responsibility of doing it because this show matters a lot to us. It’s about our friendship, it’s about what happens when we work together and it’s also a beautiful opportunity to work with the people we grew up shooting films with, in the country we love, with a story that matters to us.” Although the series has several dramatic moments, Diego and Gael have a fun karaoke scene with Eiza González and they joked that she was way better at it than them. “To be honest Eiza was really good right at the beginning with the dancing and singing,” Gael said. “I think she went to rehearse with us just to give us s**t and to laugh about us and then tell the story of us struggling trying to sing and move at the same time,” Diego added jokingly. “It was karaoke but like really bad,” Gael added. “La Máquina” is streaming on Hulu now.
