Derek Hough Says Hayley Erbert’s Recovery Post Craniectomy Is ‘Nothing Short Of A Miracle’

Derek Hough’s wife Hayley Erbert is on the mend and walking again following her craniectomy. More than a week after his wife suffered a health emergency in Washington, D.C., Derek Hough filled fans in on her recovery, posting a video of the two walking hand in hand alongside the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. In his post, Derek told fans that the last week has been a “challenging journey,” but that they were “filled with hope and relief” regarding her progress. He wrote in part, “Hayley is doing well. Her recovery process has been nothing short of a miracle. She still has a ways to go with another surgery, hopefully in a few weeks, to insert a skull implant to replace the piece that was removed during the craniectomy. It will restore the skull to its natural shape and protect the brain from injury.”
