Derek & Hannah Jeter Reveal If They Want Their Newborn Son To Play Baseball (Exclusive)
Derek and Hannah Jeter are getting real about being parents of four in a rare interview about their family. Access Hollywood caught up with the couple, who opened up about their three daughters, Bella, Story, and River, as well as their 4-month-old son, Kaius. During the candid conversation, the former Yankees shortstop revealed if he would want his son to play baseball in the future. “I want my son, I want my daughters, to find something that they’re passionate about. I don’t care what it is, I really don’t care what it is. I would like for them to play a sport because I think you learn a lot of life lessons playing sports, you know, we’re setting goals, teamwork, working together, failure. I think those are things that you learn, but I would never ever push any of my kids into a particular career path and you just want them each of them to find the thing that they’re most passionate about,” Derek explained. Hannah agreed, reflecting on a 2017 essay she wrote for The Players’ Tribune, where she penned “if they want to play baseball, well, we’re gonna have a little talk first.” “We always talk about how we just want our kids to be happy and successful in whatever they choose to do and really not making that choice for them. I imagine, you know, there might be interest but I really I don’t know. I mean our girls now don’t even really know what their dad did for a living up until this point. At one point I think they thought he played golf, he was a golfer professional golfer, right Derek?” Hannah quipped to Access. Derek and Hannah also opened up about their paid partnership of Jeep and their Grand Wagoneer.
