David and Victoria Beckham Break Their Silence About His Alleged Affair In 2003
David and Victoria Beckham are getting honest about the cheating rumors that have haunted their marriage for years. In his new Netflix documentary “Beckham,” David reflects on the harrowing time in his marriage. “There was some horrible stories which were difficult to deal with. It was the first time that me and Victoria had been put under that kind of pressure in our marriage,” David said. In 2003, the soccer legend was accused of having an affair while playing in Spain for Real Madrid after transferring from Manchester United. “You know, up until Madrid, sometimes it felt like us against everybody else but we were together, we were connected, we had each other,” she said. “But when we were in Spain, it didn’t really feel like we had each other either. And that’s sad. I can’t even begin to tell you how hard it was and how it affected me.” The couple have denied the claims against David, but Victoria admitted in the four-part series that back then she began to resent her husband. “If I’m being totally honest, yes, I did. It was the most unhappy I have ever been in my entire life. It wasn’t that I felt unheard because I was always mindful of the focus that he needed.” The pair fought for their marriage and are now the proud parents to four children, Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper. On Tuesday, David was joined by his family on the red carpet at the U.K. premiere and danced the night away with his wife afterwards.
