Dakota Fanning Recalls 10th Birthday Filming ‘Hide and Seek’ With Robert De Niro At New Film ‘The Watchers’ Premiere

Dakota Fanning is in her scary movie era! Speaking with Access Hollywood at the premiere of her upcoming horror film, “The Watchers,” the actress recalled her first film in the genre when she starred in “Hide and Seek” (2005) with Robert De Niro as a child. “I filmed it in New York – had my 10th birthday on that set!” the 30-year-old said, adding, “Getting to work with Robert De Niro – it was an experience that really stuck with me.” Dakota also spoke about how she is similar to her character ‘Mina’ in her new film, who binges reality TV while locked in a bunker, telling Access, “I love reality TV – always have. If I was stuck somewhere I would be hopeful that I had some reality TV to watch.” As to what she’d binge? “Probably a ‘Real Housewives’ season – Beverly Hills or New York, maybe. That would keep me company for a while.” Plus, Dakota shared that if she was trapped in a bunker surrounded by monsters, she’d hopefully have her sister, Elle, by her side. “I think I would need my sister – we’d probably panic together but then we’d be able to calm each other down. One of us would panic at a time.” “The Watchers” hits theaters June 7.
