Britney Spears’ Ex-Husband Sam Asghari Reacts To Being Called ‘Gift From God’ In Bombshell Memoir
Britney Spears’ ex-husband is reacting to a personal shoutout in the singer’s explosive memoir. Sam Asghari spoke out amid the success of “The Woman in Me,” in which Britney had kind words for the actor. Though Sam filed to end their 14-month marriage just weeks ahead of the book’s release, he told TMZ on Oct. 26 that Britney calling him “a gift from God” in one section sparked positive feelings. “That made me smile, to be honest,” he said. As for what he hopes for Britney’s future, the 29-year-old added that he has nothing but well wishes for the icon. “I’m freaking proud of her. I hope she takes over the world,” he said. Sam and Britney hit it off in 2016 after meeting on the set of her “Slumber Party” music video. They confirmed their split in August, with the fitness influencer citing irreconcilable differences in his divorce petition. Just one day later, he issued more candid remarks in a statement on his Instagram story. “S**t happens. Asking for privacy seems rediculous [sic] so I will just ask for everyone including media to be kind and thoughtful,” he wrote in part at the time. Britney’s “The Woman in Me” became an instant bestseller and chronicles her rise from child performer to global superstar and her 13-year conservatorship saga. In addition to Sam, the now-41-year-old also discusses past relationships with Justin Timberlake and ex-husband Kevin Federline, with bombshell claims about her and Justin’s time together including cheating allegations and the revelation that she had become pregnant and had an abortion while they were dating. Reps for Justin and Kevin have not responded to Access Hollywood’s requests for comment as of Oct. 27. However, the “Cry Me a River” singer did appear to turn off his Instagram comments in the wake of the massive attention surrounding Britney’s book.
