Aubrey Plaza Was Separated From Husband Jeff Baena Months Before His Death (Reports)

Aubrey Plaza and Jeff Baena were separated months before the director and writer’s death in January, per a new report. The report from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, which was obtained by People and E! News, states that the two separated in Sept. 2024 when the “White Lotus” star moved to New York. A month later Baena made “concerning remarks” to Plaza that “prompted her to call a friend to perform a welfare check on her husband,” the outlets report. Access Hollywood has reached out to the Los Angeles County Examiner’s office for the documents, which reportedly detail how Baena had been experiencing “recent marital difficulties” with Plaza. However, despite the separation she reportedly told authorities that they spoke on the phone the night before his death. The 40-year-old actress also reportedly told authorities she received a text from Baena hours before he tragically died by suicide on Jan. 3.
