Zendaya had to carry her date down the red carpet at her latest Hollywood event, but was more than happy to do so.
The Disney alum debuted her lookalike Barbie on Saturday night at the Rock ‘N Royals Concert Experience in Los Angeles, proudly showing off her personalized mini-me to photographers and fellow attendees.
Mattel’s 11-inch figurine is modeled after Zendaya’s 2015 Oscars look, complete with sleek dreadlocks and pearl-colored evening gown. The “Dancing with the Stars” runner-up also posted photos of the doll to her Instagram page, telling followers how flattered she was to be considered for the brand’s landmark efforts to expand its aesthetic.

“When I was little I couldn’t find a Barbie that looked like me, my…how times have changed,” the 19-year-old wrote, captioning a side-by-side comparison shot of herself alongside the new doll.
“Thank you @barbie for this honor and for allowing me to be apart of your diversification and expansion of the definition of beauty,” she continued. “Can’t wait to keep doing amazing things with you.”

Plans to commemorate Zendaya with her own Barbie were first announced on Sept. 21, and the star responded with a statement saying she was “excited” to be included in the icon’s “new direction.”
“It’s a positive message to send to my fans,” Zendaya said at the time, applauding Mattel for “celebrating diversity and encouraging kids to raise their voices.”
The toy giant unveiled its new Barbie Fashionista line in June, featuring 23 new dolls with eight skin tones, 14 different facial sculpts, 18 eye colors and 23 distinct hair colors among them.
Younger fans hoping for their own copy of Zendaya’s version, however, will have to make do with the collection as is. The actress and singer’s tailor-made Barbie is one of a kind.
