After Shaun White took home the gold medal for his high-flying snowboarding feats at the 2010 Winter Olympics, a report broke that the athlete might be getting matching tattoos with his Team U.S.A. coach to celebrate the occasion – so, Access wants to know… will he?
“I’m not sure, I’m sort of getting peer-pressured into it by the U.S. team coach,” Shaun said on NBC’s “Today” show on Thursday. “He’s like, ‘We’re getting tattoos!’ We [were] at the top of the pipe, so I [didn’t] want to shut him down.”
Whether or not he gets some new ink, the snowboarder’s performance was one he’ll always remember.
“For me, this season was completely different,” he said, adding that he’d been able to expand the sport’s repertoire instead of perfecting existing moves. “This time, I was able to create about five brand new tricks for the sport.”
And while he may be considering a tattoo, Shaun’s also sporting some new headwear.
“I would love to be back” for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, he said, putting on a fur hat. “But what will I wear?”
