Will Arnett has a new comedy coming to CBS this fall – the very funny “The Millers,” which hits television screens not long after a film with a similar name – Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis’ “We’re The Millers,” debuts in movie theaters.
“Two of my friends are in that movie – Jason and Jennifer – and I’m gonna have to send them both cease and desist letters,” Will Arnett joked when AccessHollywood.com asked him about the name coincidence following the panel for CBS’ “The Millers” at the Television Critics Association Summer Tour in Beverly Hills on Monday.
“But that movie, I haven’t seen it, but it looks really funny. I’ve seen the trailers and I wish them tremendous success and then they just go away,” he joked.

Will’s new show finds him starring as Jack, the secretly divorced son of a side-splitting Margo Martindale as mom Carol and Beau Bridges as dad Tom.
The new comedy comes after a busy several months for the actor, who recently wrapped up filming “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” where he plays cameraman Vernon Fenwick.
“It’s staying true to the mythology, staying true to the characters, but Michael Bay is producing it and so just kind of heightening that,” Will said when Access asked him to sum up the new version. “It’s not the Styrofoam suit movies from the ‘90s. It’s CGI, it’s tons of action, it’s really fun.”
And lots of pizza.
“There’s a lot of pizza. … I’m a little pizza-ed out, but it’s a really fun,” he continued. “It’s an action movie, and it’s a family movie. You can take kids, but a lot of the action is really intense. We got to work with incredible stunt guys. The technology behind the movie, the CGI from Industrial Light Magic is going to be breathtaking; I think that when people see the art, when they see the turtles, when they see these actions scenes, they’re going to be blown away.”
Proving the movie is indeed family friendly, Will was able to bring his two young sons to the set, and he said they had a blast.

“That was an amazing experience, actually, because my kids got to come to set every day and bring their nun chucks and work with the stunt guys every day so it was super fun,” he said.
“TMNT” comes after another high profile project of Will’s – Season 4 of “Arrested Development” on Netflix.
When the show was released earlier this year, it was met with mixed reviews, and many thought the show had become darker. Asked by Access if he was surprised by the darker tinged scripts when he first saw them, Will said he thought the show went in the right direction.
“I think it was a good way to go,” he said. “I think that we had — you had to mix it up. I think you had to do something. We had to kind of reinvent it and I always likened it to a new version of a car that everybody loves that comes out and initially everybody says, ‘Oh my God! It looks terrible, the old one was so great,’ and then, after a while, you get used to it and you say, ‘Oh wait, it’s very innovative.’
“I think that we had to go dark,” he continued. “They had to do something that was kind of – you know audiences are so savvy now and you have to do something that’s different and make it interesting.”
Asked by another reporter about the status of Season 5, which is being discussed with Netflix, Will said it could happen.
“It’s something that everybody’s open to,” he said.
