Thanks to a wildly popular YouTube video by wildlife enthusiast Randall, nearly 40 million fans have been educated about the formerly obscure creature now affectionately known as “The Crazy NastyAss Honey Badger.”
AccessHollywood.com caught up with the new viral video king to get his take on who’s who in the animal kingdom of Hollywood, including which celebs just may be wild and callous enough to earn the illustrious title of Hollywood’s honey badgers.
“Last year, Charlie Sheen absolutely emulated a honey badger,” Randall told AccessHollywood.com in a phone interview of the “winning” former “Two and a Half Men” star. “Talk about an actor who doesn’t really care or give a s*** about what everyone is doing!”
“The Wrestler’s” Mickey Rourke nearly joined Charlie in the ranks of the larvae-eating, cobra-fighting mustelid, but was instead relegated to a related animal family due to his resilience.
“[Mickey] is more of like, a wolverine. Honey badgers and wolverines are related — they’re in the same family. I mean, imagine that Thanksgiving!” Randall said with a laugh. “By that same token, Mickey Rourke has always been very controversial. He’s always looked at the face of adversity and he’s always come out on top.
“I think, to me, he’s more of a focused honey badger than Charlie Sheen, in that he’s going for what he wants and he’s not caring, but he always somehow manages to land on his feet and overcome obstacles.”
And of course, we just had to point out that in addition to his ability to bounce back, Mickey scores additional points from us because he adores his beloved Chihuahuas!
“Absolutely,” Randall agreed.
We peppered the hilarious narrator with questions regarding some of entertainment’s biggest names, and he assigned the following animal classifications to the stars prowling the jungle of Hollywood:
Lady Gaga: “A flamingo.”
George Clooney: “A raccoon. You know how raccoons are kind of dashing, but then [they have a bite] and you’re like, ‘Get away from the garbage,’ and they’re like, ‘Excuse me?!?’ That’s George Clooney.”
Britney Spears: “I’d have to say perhaps an ostrich? Something bird-y. But I’d go with an ostrich just because they’re so majestic when they’re running and everything, but then when they get too shy, they kind of bury their head in the sand and do weird things. So, it kind of fits, like mentality-wise. She has the mentality of an ostrich.”
Kim Kardashian: “Oh, word! Uh… the only animal I can think of is Kim Kardashian! She’s kind of her own species at this point.”
Joan Rivers: “Joan Rivers is amazing. I’d probably have to go with maybe a lemur? Like a precious little lemur… with a mouth on her! I could see her on the red carpet just being like, ‘Oh what are you wearing? What are you wearing? Oh, look at her!’”
As for which celebs he would love to work with, Randall instantly chose “Drive” heartthrob Ryan Gosling, but for reasons beyond his talent and good looks.
“I would love to work with Ryan Gosling — I love the fact that his last name is a baby goose. So precious,” he told Access. “I know that he’s an animal lover.”
Also on Randall’s list of favorites? Olivia Wilde, Ellen DeGeneres and Betty White.
“There are so many great folks out there that do what they do, but also take time to acknowledge that the animals need our help,” he said. “So, to work with those folks would just be amazing.”
