Tom Hanks Drops The F Bomb On Good Morning America: ‘Never Give Me A Handheld Mic!’

Whoops! Even Tom Hanks experiences a momentary language lapse every once in a while.

The Academy Award-winning actor accidentally dropped the “F” word on live TV while imitating one of his “Cloud Atlas” characters for host Elizabeth Vargas on “Good Morning America” on Friday.

“I slipped into a brand of acting. I have never done that before! I want to apologize to the kids of America who are watching right now,” Tom said following the slip. “And let me say, next time I’m on the show there’ll be seven-second delay!

“Never give me a handheld mic,” he added, with a laugh. “I blame the staff! I blame the staff!”

ABC released a statement apologizing for the incident.

“This morning Tom Hanks accidently [sic] used an expletive during a live interview on ‘GMA’ with Elizabeth Vargas,” the network said in a statement to Access Hollywood on Friday. “They both immediately apologized on air, and the show was corrected for the all subsequent feeds.”

The 56-year-old actor later apologized again via Twitter, writing, “For GMA, spesh kowtow for Lizzie V for WHAT DID I JUST SAY??? Oops! In character! Sorry! Hanx”
