T.I. Slams Female President, Says Loch Ness Monster Has Better Chance Winning

T.I. caused a firestorm with his comments on voting for a female president – he even said a mythical water animal had a better chance of getting elected.

“Not to be sexist but, I can’t vote for the leader of the free world to be a woman,” the rapper said in an interview with DJ Whoo Kid, per Entertainment Weekly. (The video of T.I.’s interview has since been made private.)

“Just because, every other position that exists, I think a woman could do well. But, the president? It’s kinda like, I just know that women make rash decisions emotionally – they make very permanent, cemented decisions – and then later, it’s kind of like it didn’t happen, or they didn’t mean for it to happen. And I sure would hate to just set off a nuke. […] [Other leaders] will not be able to negotiate the right kinds of foreign policy; the world ain’t ready yet,” he continued.

According to the rapper, a woman will have a difficult time winning a race to the White House.

“I think you might be able to get the Loch Ness Monster elected before [a woman]. It’s not right, but I’m just saying,” he continued.

Following his interview, T.I. issued an apology on Twitter.

“My comments about women running for president were unequivocally insensitive and wrong. I sincerely apologize to everyone I offended,” he wrote.

The rapper had a very different take on the idea of Donald Trump as president, saying the reality star/ real estate mogul could be “beneficial” to the country.

“You know, his racist remarks and all of his off-color statements and all that sh*t it makes it impossible to be completely supportive of him. But just knowing what he’s done for business for himself, if he intends to do that for America, it would be beneficial. But I can’t cash no vote for him,” he said in the interview.
