In just two days, rappin? grannies, jugglers, singers, dancers and other assorted characters will hit the stage as ?America?s Got Talent? premieres on NBC.
And not only will viewers be treated to extraordinary performers, they?ll also meet the man who could very well be the next Simon Cowell ? and much like Simon, this Brit has got bite.
But if you ask Piers Morgan about being the next Simon, he has a much different take on it.
?He?s the new me. It?s quite obvious to the audience that I?m better, I?m smarter and I?m funnier,? Piers told Access Hollywood.
As it turns out, Simon (the show?s executive producer) actually recruited this popular British media star to be a judge on ?America?s Got Talent.? But so far, Piers isn?t impressed by America?s talent.
?I thought I had been ?Punk?d? by Simon Cowell. He promised me the next Whitney Houston, but so far the acts are less than what?s expected, to put it mildly,? Piers said.
So does Piers have any compassion for those who are giving it their all? Not exactly.
?I?m not as hard on them as Simon. He doesn?t care about these people. I want them to be a great talent, but what is so sad is that some are deluded and believe they have talent worth a million dollars,? he added.
Hosting ABC?s new three-ring reality circus will be Regis Philbin, while Brandy and David Hasselhoff join Piers as the other two judges.
Catch ?America?s Got Talent? when it debuts Wednesday, June 21 on NBC.
