Victor Garber is joining “The Flash.” The “Alias” alum will play Dr. Martin Stein, a recurring role on the Grant Gustin-fronted CW series.
Dr. Stein is described as a “brilliant but arrogant nuclear physicist who has sacrificed everything, including a marriage, for his work in transmutation.”
The particle accelerator fused him with Ronnie Raymond, a younger, more impulsive man played by Robbie Amell.

Over the summer, at the Television Critics Association Summer Tour, “The Flash” Executive Producer Greg Berlanti first revealed plans to cast Dr. Stein.
“I think as we evolve Firestormââ¬Â¦ youââ¬â¢ll meet Stein,” he said at the time. “We actually had him in a version of the pilot at one point on the train with Barry coming back from when he was coming back from Starling [City]. And so heââ¬â¢ll be there that day.”
Victor recently played Ichabod Crane’s father in “Sleepy Hollow” Season 1.
In related “The Flash” news, the series premiere, which aired on Tuesday night, became The CW’s most-watched telecast since 2009, with 4.54 million viewers watching the episode.
