Taylor Swift In Talks To Play Joni Mitchell?

Does Taylor Swift have her sights set on another big screen role?

According to Variety, the country superstar is hoping to play Joni Mitchell in Sony’s upcoming film adaptation of Sheila Weller’s book, “Girls Like Us.”

The biopic, set to be directed by “House” executive producer Katie Jacobs, will follow the lives and careers of the “Big Yellow Taxi” singer, as well as fellow ‘70s artists Carole King and Carly Simon.

If Taylor lands the part, it would not be the “Mean” singer’s first big screen role – she made her acting debut opposite “The Twilight Saga” heartthrob Taylor Lautner in Garry Marshall’s ensemble film, “Valentine’s Day.”

The singer, 22, also voiced a character in Universal’s animated hit,“Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax,” and was rumored to be in the running to play Eponine in the Tom Hooper’s upcoming big screen adaptation of “Les Miserables” – a role that ultimately went to stage actress Samantha Barks.
