Susan Boyle may have had her “Britain’s Got Talent” performance viewed over 100 million times on the Internet and made fans of Rosie O’Donnell, Demi Moore and The White House, but the 47-year-old Scot isn’t sure she’s going to win the talent competition that made her a breakout star.
“Well, I’ve [got] the chance, but at the same time, there’s a lot of other talent in the competition,” Susan told Simon Cowell and Oprah Winfrey during Monday’s “Oprah” show. “I’m willing to take my place with them. There’s a lot of good talent on the show.”
Susan taped her appearance on “Oprah,” from her home in Blackburn, Scotland, as she was barred from going overseas while she remains a “Britain’s Got Talent” contender.
While she can’t go overseas, her life at home certainly has changed, something the singer said she is still adjusting to.
“Well, it all takes a bit of time to take in,” Susan said. “I mean these things have happened so quickly. It’s pretty awesome.”
But the sweet Scot, who previously performed just for locals and family gatherings, said she certainly doesn’t mind being famous.
“I think change is very hard to come at first, but [I’m] really enjoying it, really enjoying every second of it,” she laughed. “It’s like a dream come true.”
Since she first shot to fame in early April, when her performance shocked the “Britain’s Got Talent” judges – Simon, Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden — as well as shocked its audience, and the world – Susan has since made headlines by changing her appearance.
“I did a bit,” she confirmed to Oprah. “But that was just to tidy myself up like any other female would have done.”
She shot down, however, rumors of a makeover.
“Depends by what you mean by a makeover. I mean, my best friend actually helps me with my make up,” Susan laughed. “I mean, that’s hardly a makeover.”
