“Suits” star Patrick J. Adams is heading to “Orphan Black.”
And, the actor who plays (not-quite-legal) lawyer Mike Ross on the USA network series can thank Twitter for his new role.
Patrick got the gig after Tweeting about the BBC America program, which stars Tatiana Maslany as a host of cloned women.
The actor, who just started filming his guest spot, will play Jesse. His character is being described by the network as a “down to earthy guy with guts to match his good nature. But when the clones’ problems come crashing into his life, Jesse’s decent heart lands him in a world of trouble he never saw coming.”
The actor explained how excited he was to join “Orphan Black.”
“From my first viewing of the first episode I knew there wasn’t another show on television that I wanted to be part of more than ‘Orphan Black.’ Tatiana Maslany is doing some of the best work on TV. Period. Really, I just wanted front row seats to that performance,” he said in a statement.
“Orphan Black” Season 2 will premiere on BBC America in 2014. “Suits” also returns next year.
