Shaun Robinson Makes A Run For The Roses To Cover Kentucky Derby

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (May 4, 2007) — Access’ Shaun Robinson is leaving Hollywood behind for a few days to make a Run for the Roses.

Shaun is headed to the Kentucky Derby and will anchor Saturday’s “Kentucky Derby Red Carpet Special” on NBC, which will take a close look at the parties, celebrities and fashion surrounding the historic horse race.

And in traditional Derby fashion, she’s already got her hat all picked out. Actually, make that hats.

“It was a hard as picking out my Oscar dress!” Shaun said. “My stylist and I tried on so many hats. I finally picked a red one for the ‘mini’ derby on Friday and a grand white and black one for the main derby on Saturday. Can’t wait to wear them both!”In addition to her duties for the NBC special, Shaun and Access will be in Louisville all week to capture the scene at the legendary parties leading up to what’s been billed as “the most exciting two minutes in sports.”

“This is the first time I have ever been to the Kentucky Derby and I am beyond excited. I’ve been hearing so much about the fantastic parties and great time everyone has when they come here,” Shaun said after arriving in Louisville on a private jet with former NBA star John Salley, comedienne Niecy Nash, author Antwon Fisher and her Access TV-One co-host Jamal Munnerlyn.

Among the items on their Louisville agenda are a tour around the city, the preliminary races on Friday at Churchill Downs, a VIP reception for Muhammad Ali’s birthday, and of course, the Derby on Saturday, followed by the black-tie Grand Gala on Saturday night.

“The Kentucky Derby Red Carpet Special presented by Olay Regenerist” will be simulcast on NBCSports.com.
