After 16 years with Access Hollywood, it’s a bittersweet moment as we announce Shaun Robinson is leaving the show.
Shaun – who first joined Access in 1999 – will be leaving the show at the end of June to focus on future development and production endeavors within the NBCUniversal family.
NBCUniversal Domestic TV Distribution has signed a television development deal with Shaun’s production company, Robinhood Productions, Inc., which will give Shaun the opportunity to develop and/or produce scripted and unscripted television projects across all platforms for NBCU’s domestic distribution division.
“It’s been an extraordinary 16 years here at ‘Access Hollywood’ and I am going to miss all my friends here because we are truly like a family. Television has changed so much since I first sat at the anchor desk and it’s time to take my career to the next level,” Shaun said on Wednesday. “There are so many more opportunities awaiting me, both on-camera and as a producer. I’m extremely excited about creating fun and meaningful content through my production company, RobinHood Productions, Inc., focusing specifically on empowering women and girls about which I am so passionate. I will certainly be back in front of the camera soon and I look forward to announcing my next on-air role in the near future.”
“For 16 years Shaun Robinson has been an integral part of the success of ‘Access Hollywood.’” Access Hollywood’s Executive Producer Rob Silverstein noted. “Shaun has a tremendous ability to put stars at ease and always has had a special connection with our viewers. We wish Shaun success and happiness as she moves into this new, exciting phase of her career.”
“Shaun is a talented journalist with a work ethic that won’t quit,” Linda Finnell, Senior Vice President, Programming, NBCUniversal Domestic TV Distribution, added. “We will definitely miss Shaun at ‘Access Hollywood’ but we are very happy for her as she enters in to this new chapter.”
While reflecting on some of the amazing moments she’s been a part of over the years at Access, Shaun – who is an Emmy-winning journalist, TV host, producer and author – said there is one assignment that stands out in her mind.
“Certainly one of my favorite moments was covering Oprah Winfrey’s Leadership Academy for Girls,” Shaun said. “It was an extraordinary experience to see these young ladies have a chance to blossom in a safe and supportive environment and to witness them becoming the next leaders of the world!
“Also, any day I get to interview Will Smith is a day of sunshine! He’s one of my favorite – he knows how to have fun in an interview and also give you thoughtful answers. I adore him!” she added.
Access Hollywood will honor Shaun with a tribute show dedicated to her amazing work over the years, which will air on Tuesday June 30 (check local listings).
