Selena Gomez and Nicole Kidman were the guests of honor at The Hollywood Reporter’s 2024 Women in Entertainment Gala.
The A-listers received the Equity in Entertainment and the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award, respectively, at the star-studded event, presented by Lifetime in Beverly Hills on Dec. 4. The annual ceremony corresponds with the magazine’s Power 100 list of the most notable female executives and performers in the industry.
Selena’s Equity Award recognizes those whose work helps bring attention to underrepresented voices throughout show business. Previous honorees include Kerry Washington, Selma Blair and Issa Rae.
The Sherry Lansing Leadership Award is named for the former Paramount CEO who was the first woman to head a major Hollywood studio. Lansing is also a longtime friend and mentor of Nicole’s, and the Oscar winner joins fellow powerhouses including Jennifer Aniston, Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon and Viola Davis who have been given the honor, which acknowledges influential and philanthropic trailblazers in Hollywood.
The gala also does its part to give back. This year’s event welcomed more than two dozen high school students from THR’s mentorship program in partnership with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles. In conjunction with its 15th anniversary, the program announced more than $1 million in college scholarships for its young female participants preparing for graduation.
