Selena Gomez has been forced to pull out of a promotional experience for her new film “Monte Carlo” on Friday after the star was hospitalized in Los Angeles on Thursday night.
“Last night, after Selena’s appearance on ‘The Tonight Show,’ she wasn’t feeling well and was taken to the hospital,” a statement from Selena’s rep to Access Hollywood on Friday noted. “She is currently undergoing routine tests. Unfortunately due to these unforeseen circumstances, today’s scheduled appearance in Santa Monica has been canceled.”
Selena had been due to take part in a performance of “Who Says,” with her band The Scene, and take part in a fan Q&A session at the Santa Monica Place Center Plaza beginning at 4 PM.
While Selena will not be there, FOX confirmed to Access that the “Monte Calro” experience will still take place.
The 19-year-old singer and actress — and current girlfriend of 17-year-old pop star Justin Bieber — was taken to a LA-area hospital following her visit to “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” where she was a guest alongside Jim Carrey on Thursday evening.
Selena appeared fine on the program, talking about getting her driver’s license, and her new film, which is due out on July 1.
The star’s boyfriend, Justin, later Tweeted “getwellselena” on Friday afternoon.
