Scott Eastwood, son of Clint Eastwood, first jumped into the acting world without the help of his dad’s famous name.
The 27-year-old sat down with Access’ Tim Vincent where he explained why he’s now using his family’s well-known name and how it doesn’t necessarily help him land roles.
“Everyone wanted to represent Scott Eastwood, right? That’s the cheapest game in the book. I wanted to be an actor for me and to see if I could do it,” he said of originally going by Scott Reeves, using his mother’s maiden name.
But now that’s he’s using Eastwood, it has not given him a golden ticket through Hollywood.
“Sure, I’ve had doors open for me,” he continued. “But if you walk into an audition room and you can’t deliver… no one’s gonna hire you for the job.”

Scott told Tim that’s he’s very grateful for the breaks his family name has given him.
“You gotta take the good with the bad. I’m gonna look at the glass half full and say that I’ve had a lot of great opportunities in my life because of my father and because of the way I was raised and the environment I was raised in,” he said.
Adding, “But it’s how you handle yourself as a man. That’s what it comes down to in this world. You know? How you handle yourself on a job, whether you’re a plumber or a carpenter, whatever you do it’s how you handle yourself.”
Scott is currently shooting the film “Fury” alongside Brad Pitt.
