Sarah Jessica Parker has been a screen staple for over three decades, but the former “Sex and The City” star says she still battles self-doubt when beginning a new project.
“I lose my appetite,” Sarah told Vogue in an interview for their August issue of her on-set jitters.
Sarah recently wrapped production on the upcoming comedy, “I Don’t Know How She Does It,” and the fashion-forward actress revealed her nerves had gotten the best of her “by Wednesday of the first week” of filming.
“I was sobbing, I was apologizing,” she told the mag. “I was feeling so awful and ashamed, like I had let the director down. If only they would not tell me when the camera was running, I would be OK.
“I’m like that two weeks into every movie,” she added.
In the film, due out on September 16, Sarah plays a financial executive supporting her husband (played by Greg Kinnear) and two children – a role she can relate to as a working mother of three.
The Golden Globe-winning actress and her husband, Matthew Broderick, had their first child, James Wilkie in 2002.
The couple became parents again in June 2009, to twins Marion and Tabitha. Though Sarah was 44 at the time, she said she hopes being an older parent with more life experience has allowed to her to extend more patience to her children.
“I’ve had a lot of opportunities to do the things that I wanted to do, like sleep. I have slept till 11 [AM] for a lot of years,” she told the mag. “The only thing that I’m concerned about is the energy: I hope I can maintain the energy. I think about all the years I’ve spent parenting James Wilkie and everything I put into it, and there are two of them.”
