Rihanna Raves Over 2025 Met Gala Theme As A$AP Rocky Named Co-Chair: ‘So Much Respect’

Rihanna is always ready to shine bright like a diamond!

The music superstar and business mogul caught up with Access Hollywood’s Scott Evans in honor of her Savage x Fenty line hitting Nordstrom, and she raved over major Met Gala news that broke just hours earlier.

Rihanna’s partner, A$AP Rocky, has been named co-chair alongside Pharrell Williams, Lewis Hamilton, Colman Domingo and honorary chair LeBron James for fashion’s biggest night, which will celebrate Black dandyism from the 18th century to the present day under the theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”

Rih is known for her own bold and headline-making Met Gala appearances through the years, and she shared why the May 2025 event is already a standout.

“This is probably one of my favorite themes of all of them, I’ve had tons of incredible themes with the Met ball that I enjoy but this one, it made me respect it so much more,” she shared.

The 35-year-old went on to explain why the upcoming occasion will be more than just a celebration of culture but also an historic milestone.

“It’s also a celebration of history and it’s just bringing it to the forefront on a platform where we’ve been kind of hidden and it’s just accepting it, like yeah! We got this!” she said. “We’ve been doing this and now I’m excited to see Anna Wintour put that on the forefront, so much respect, I can’t wait to be there. I’m not going to miss this one.”

Rihanna and Rocky aren’t just crushing it professionally – they’ve been keeping busy at home, too! The pair are parents to sons RZA, 2, and Riot, 1, and the proud mom told Access how her oldest has adjusted to life with a younger sibling.

“The second that his baby brother cries, he’s there, he’s running, he’s crying too and he’s worried, he loves him,” she smiled, noting, “It’s just hard to share toys and pacifiers.”

Rih went on to share how much she’s learned through her motherhood experience thanks to the boys.

“It’s fun, I literally, I enjoy it so much, looking at them and living through them and I’m amazed by every new discovery of theirs, even their boundaries,” she said, adding, “They’re teaching me how to be their mom as much as I’m teaching them to be in this world and guide them as best as I can.”

The icon has also had the chance to reflect on her own childhood through her latest business venture and she explained why bringing Savage x Fenty to Nordstrom is a full-circle moment.

“It’s a big deal and it takes me back to being a young lady who aspired to be able to afford something at Nordstrom,” she shared, adding, “I knew that I could meet my customer here, my goal was to have Savage be as accessible as possible and Nordstrom is the beginning.”

Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty intimates line is now available at select Nordstrom stores and online.
