Rihanna Holds On Tight To Daring Battleship Premiere Dress

Rihanna hit the blue carpet at the premiere of her first feature film, “Battleship,” in Los Angeles on Thursday night, and the superstar was a little weary of the wind.

She revealed to Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush, who hosted the official blue carpet event at L.A. Live, that she was worried her backless white dress, which she co-designed, might end up showing off a little more than she planned.

“I’ve gotta hold on to my outfit a little tighter than usual,” she laughed.

Rihanna was in good spirits at the event, having recovered from an illness that landed her on an IV drip recently.

“I’m a lot better now… I had a couple days to rest and get rehydrated,” she told Billy. “I just had the flu and I kept working and I wasn’t getting better so I took couple days off to sleep and I feel great.”

Rihanna was joined by her family and friends at her big premiere, and she revealed to Billy why she chose to enter the acting fray with “Battleship.”

“I always thought it was something, after I started doing videos, it felt like something that I would be interested in,” she said. “I didn’t know if I was gonna be any good or like it. But I tried it thanks to [Director] Peter Berg and Universal and it has been really tremendous, this experience.”

But it was no walk in the park for the new actress.

“I did my homework, but it was really a hands-on experience,” she told Billy. “You had to do it and learn as you went.”

“Battleship” opens in theaters on May 18.
