President George W. Bush Holds Back Tears As His Daughter Jenna Bush Shares A Reading At His Father’s Funeral

President George W. Bush appeared to be holding back tears as his daughter Jenna Bush Hager shared a reading at his father, President George H.W. Bush’s funeral in Washington D.C. at the Washington National Cathedral on Monday.

Jenna held back her own tears as she delivered a reading of Revelation 21:1-4; 6-7; 23-2.

The cameras panned to her dad, President George W. Bush, who was seen looking visibly emotional during her reading.

“Then he said to me, it is done. I am the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end,” Jenna read with confidence.

As she walked away from the reading, she gently brushed her hand across her grandfather’s flag-covered casket.

It’s been an emotional couple days for the Bush family, and Jenna told her “Today” co-host Savannah Guthrie that she wasn’t surprised that her grandfather passed when he did… because he wanted to share Christmas with his love, Barbra Bush, who passed away eight months ago.
