Natalie Portman is feeling “lucky.”
With a new fiancé, a stellar performance in “Black Swan” which has sparked loads of award buzz and a baby on the way, life is almost too good but be true for the 29-year-old beauty.
“The apocalypse is coming so, I figured, get it all in before 2011 is out,” Natalie joked with Access’ Shaun Robinson at a junket for her new film, “No Strings Attached,” on Friday of her exciting year. “I feel very lucky. It’s been a really, really lucky, lucky time.
Though she’s not yet 30, the veteran actress has been in the business for 20 years and is reaping the benefits of her hard work.
“Obviously my own life is so different now,” Natalie told Shaun, when asked how her life has transformed. “I’m definitely becoming an adult now really, finally!
“And work-wise it’s been really exciting,” Natalie continued. “I feel like I’m getting to try all sorts of different things. Now I’m getting to do a comedy after doing so much serious work and that’s been really fun.”
In “No Strings Attached,” Natalie plays Emma, a young woman who begins a “friends with benefits” relationship with Adam (played by Ashton Kutcher). She says that the former “Punk’d” host made quite an impression on his stunning co-star.
“Ashton is so good at [comedy], so easygoing and so easy to be around and really fun and really professional,” Natalie raved. “So, it was definitely helpful to have him as the person I had the most scenes with in this movie.”
Working with Ashton did pose one problem for the Black Swan beauty — neck aches!
“He’s a lot taller than me,” Natalie laughed. “We definitely got a lot of enjoyment out of the — well, he probably got more because he gets to be the tall one… I get to be the gnome! But there were a lot of short people jokes.”
As for how the first-time expectant mother is feeling, Natalie is craving “anything with vinegar” and has a new request for her upcoming awards show gowns.
“Not too tight,” Natalie told Shaun. “As long as it’s loose, I’m all happy.”
Catch Natalie and Ashton in “No Strings Attached” when the movie hits theaters on January 21.
