Paul McCartney Dedicates ‘Michelle’ To Mrs. Obama

Paul McCartney dedicated a very fitting song to Michelle Obama during his Washington, D.C. concert on Saturday night.

The former Beatle sang “Michelle” in honor of the First Lady, NBC Washington reported.

However, the real-life Michelle was not in attendance at Paul’s FedExField show, having left for vacation at Camp David hours earlier.

Last November, Paul McCartney told reporters at the MTV Europe Music Awards that he would love to perform for President Obama — and his wife.

“I hope to get the opportunity to sing … to his wife,” Paul said of Michelle. “I have a little song ready for him.”

But Paul’s wasn’t the only dedication of the evening on Saturday.

At the All Points West Music Festival at Liberty State Park in Jersey City, New Jersey, Jay-Z dedicated his set to the Beastie Boys’ Adam “MCA” Yauch, who was recently diagnosed with cancer. Jay, who replaced the Beastie Boys in the lineup at the festival after the news broke, opened his set with the group’s “No Sleep Till Brooklyn.”
