The highly anticipated hit “Outer Banks” is back for a fourth season and there’s a new treasure to be found.
The season starts with an 18-month time jump and finds the Pogues enjoying life as they build Poguelandia 2.0.
During that time, Sarah and John B. are starting a life together after the death of their dads in Season 3.
“I think they have this very shared traumatic experience so they are trauma bonded for life now, and I think they can move forward without this also shared conflict that was a big issue last season,” Madelyn Cline told Access Hollywood about where fans will find the characters.
Moving forward is a big theme for Sarah and John B. this season, but Chase Stokes said in order for them to move forward, they have to acknowledge the past.
“These two have been through so much together and then as individuals and a lot of their individual journeys have mirrored themselves,” he told Access. “I think at some point in a relationship you either realize you’re good for each other or not and to put all the B.S. behind you and start moving forward and I do think Season 4 is the start of that chapter for them.”

“JJ is trying to trust himself in that and I think that is where Season 4 starts,” Rudy Pankow told Access. “JJ is trying to feel like, is this something I can do right.”
Fans have waited years to see JJ and Kiara make it official, and Madison said timing is everything.
“We waited for our moment and last season it finally happened. Everything happens in the right time right and we’re also 18 months into it and thriving,” she explained.
JJ and Kiara aren’t the only new couple—Pope and Cleo are together as well! When Access spoke to J.D. and Carlacia Grant they explained why they’re a good match.
“It’s like the ying and the yang,” Carlacia said. “Pope is really smart, and he likes to think through everything and Cleo’s like stop thinking let’s just go. They balance each other out but at the core of it, it’s real genuine love for each other and I think that’s what makes it work.”
But not everyone is happily in love this season. Rafe is still dealing with the death of his dad, Ward Cameron, and navigating his complicated relationship with his sister Sarah. When Access spoke to Drew Starkey, he revealed if he thinks Rafe will ever patch things up with Sarah.
“I don’t know, I think there’s a part of him that yearns for that because that’s a part of his dad that still kind of lives within him, but we’ll see,” Drew said. “I think he’s in a place where he’s starting to understand what family might mean and how it might bring him some peace. He obviously wants that but it’s about if he has the ability to communicate it properly.”
Part 1 of Season 4 of “Outer Banks” streams on Netflix Oct.10 and part 2 starts streaming Nov. 7.
