Oprah Winfrey: ‘How Dare Anybody Say That I Was Robbed’ Of An Oscar Nomination

Oprah Winfrey is taking her lack of an Oscar nomination in stride – in fact, she told Access Hollywood she’s not surprised.

“I do not think I was robbed at all,” Oprah, who many thought would be nominated for her work in “Lee Daniels’ The Butler,” told Access at the 2014 Critics’ Choice Awards on Thursday in Los Angeles.

“Because when you look at the category, Julia and Sally and June and Jennifer and (singing in the trademark Oprah way) Lupita!”

The Best Supporting Actress Oscar nods went to Sally Hawkins for “Blue Jasmine,” Jennifer Lawrence for “American Hustle,” Lupita Nyong’o for “12 Years a Slave,” Julia Roberts for “August: Osage County” and June Squibb for “Nebraska” on Thursday morning.

“How dare anybody say that I was robbed… that’s what’s so wonderful about the Oscars. There are wonderful films and the fact that you have so many films that you can’t even get people in all the categories, and the fact that I actually after 15 years was able to actually do it,” Oprah continued.

Adding, “Robbed? Are you kidding? Never. Never. Never!”
