On The Download:  MURS — Dues, Paid!

MURS has definitely been one of the kings of the Los Angeles underground Hip-Hop scene for almost a decade, but has yet to conquer the national scene. That is until now. His seventh album, (first for a major label) “Murs For President,” has everything necessary to take him to the next level.

First of all MURS himself is easily one of the most gifted and intelligent wordsmiths on the scene, and his commanding voice, and style could rival Jay-Z or Lil’ Wayne any day.

Secondly, on his latest disc, he’s paired with bona fide stars like Snoop Dogg on “Time Is Now,” and Will.i.Am on “Lookin’ Fly.”

And, last but not least, the production on the disc is off the chain. Well known producers like DJ Khalil, Nottz, 9th Wonder, and Scoop DeVille turn in some mind boggling bangin’ beats.

Bottom line is — Murs has always had the talent, but now he’s got the exposure to elevate him. It’s a jump that he deserves, and the fact is, he’s definitely paid his dues to get there.
