Newman lives!
Despite a weekend death hoax (and season after season of Jerry Seinfeld wishing for his demise on “Seinfeld”) Wayne Knight – who played Jerry’s nemesis on the iconic sitcom, is not dead.
“Some of you will be glad to hear this, others strangely disappointed, but….I am alive and well!” the 58-year-old Tweeted following a traffic accident hoax over the weekend.

The actor was surprised how false reports of his death momentarily launched him into the spotlight.
“Does someone have to DIE to trend? Geez! Thanks for all the love everybody. I didn’t know you cared. Glad to be breathing!” he wrote in another Tweet.

Adding, “Thanks to the small town of new followers who came onboard just to tell me they’re glad I didn’t kick! I feel good about the result as well.”
On Sunday, a phony online report claimed Knight was killed in a tractor-trailer accident near the Pennsylvania-New York border.
