MTV VMAs 2024: Megan Thee Stallion, Katy Perry & Everything You Need To Know For This Year’s Show

The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards are already an A-list affair!

This year’s show is welcoming music’s top talent for another blockbuster event, this time tapping rap sensation Megan Thee Stallion as host and honoring pop icon Katy Perry with the prestigious Video Vanguard award.

MTV announced on Aug. 22 that the event will mark Megan’s first-ever award show hosting appearance, adding to her already successful year on the heels of her latest album “MEGAN” and Hot Girl Summer tour.

The VMA winner is up for five awards this year, aiming for her second Best Hip Hop honor after winning the category in 2020.

And it wouldn’t be a VMAs night without live performances everyone will be talking about!

As for Katy, the hitmaker is set to deliver “a career-spanning medley of her biggest chart-toppers,” per MTV, while Benson Boone, Camila Cabello, Chappell Roan, GloRilla, Halsey, Lenny Kravitz, LISA, Rauw Alejandro and Sabrina Carpenter round out the current list of talent taking the stage as well.

The star-studded nominations also include the biggest names in music, from established legends like Taylor Swift and Eminem to viral newcomers Chappell and Shaboozey.

Sabrina is also among the 29 artists who received first-time nominations, with Chappell, Shaboozey, Teddy Swims, Benson, Gracie Abrams and more breakout stars all joining the club.

As of Aug. 6, fans can begin voting on vote.mtv.com across 15 categories, with social categories to be announced at a later date.

The 2024 MTV VMAs return to New York on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 8PM ET/PT and will air live from UBS Arena.
