Miley Cyrus, Jesse McCartney And Demi Lovato To Perform At Concert For Hope Benefit

Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato and Jesse McCartney plan to hit all the right notes in the fight against cancer when they take the stage at the second annual Concert for Hope presented by Staples, Inc. on October 25.

The event benefits lifesaving cancer research and treatment programs at City of Hope, one of the nation’s leading cancer centers. Concert for Hope will take place at 5 p.m. at the Nokia Theatre at L.A. LIVE in Downtown Los Angeles.

Tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster.com, at all Ticketmaster retail outlets including all Macy’s, FYE Music & Ritmo Latino locations, and via TM Charge by Phone — (800) 745-3000. A portion of the tickets will be auctioned through Ticketmaster.com.

“Thanks to Disney Music Group, artists Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Jesse McCartney, and Staples, City of Hope will further advance science to ensure the best therapies are available to patients who face cancer and other life-threatening diseases,” said Michael A. Friedman, M.D., president and chief executive officer, City of Hope. “We are honored to have their commitment as we work to ultimately find cures and give hope to patients everywhere.”

The sold-out 2008 Concert for Hope raised in excess of $1.2 million for City of Hope’s cancer research efforts. Cyrus is donating $1 from every ticket sold during her current, hugely successful Wonder World Tour. On her last tour, she raised more than $2 million to benefit City of Hope.

“Staples is honored to be this year’s national presenting sponsor of the Concert for Hope,” said Ron Sargent, Staples chairman and chief executive officer. “We continue our long standing support of City of Hope and their efforts to find a cure for the millions of people living with cancer.”

Nearly 1,500,000 people will be diagnosed with cancer in 2009. Of those, approximately 10,730 will be children under the age of 14. As a Comprehensive Cancer Center, the highest designation bestowed by the National Cancer Institute, City of Hope is committed to shortening the timeframe from scientific idea to new treatments to quickly bring cures to patients who need them.

The entertainment industry has raised more than $80 million through benefits, promotions and partnerships to support ongoing programs at City of Hope.
