At only 14, Miley Cyrus knew that both men and women caught her eye.

In Paper Magazine’s Summer 2015 issue – where the 22-year-old is nude, covered in mud and cuddling with her pet pig, Bubba Sue on the cover – Miley opens up about when she first told her mom she had romantic feelings for women and men.
“I remember telling her I admire women in a different way. And she asked me what that meant. And I said, ‘I love them. I love them like I love boys,'” she told the mag. “And it was so hard for her to understand. She didn’t want me to be judged and she didn’t want me to go to hell. But she believes in me more than she believes in any god. I just asked for her to accept me. And she has.”

Miley’s relationships with Liam Hemsworth, Patrick Schwarzenegger and Nick Jonas made headlines, but she revealed that she’s had just as significant ones with women – unbeknownst to the public.
“I’ve had that,” she explained. “But people never really looked at it, and I never brought it into the spotlight.”
As for who Miley is open to dating, she’s down for pretty much anyone – as long as they are legal and human.

“I am literally open to every single thing that is consenting and doesn’t involve an animal and everyone is of age. Everything that’s legal, I’m down with. Yo, I’m down with any adult – anyone over the age of 18 who is down to love me,” the singer explained.
Adding, “As long as you’re not hurting anyone, your choices are your choices.”
Back in 2007, the year Miley came out to mom Tish, the star opened up to Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush about her relationship with her mom.

“My mom is with me like every second and she has always encouraged me to do what feels right for you,” she said at the time of transitioning from being a Disney star to breaking out on her own. “So now to just have my mom that’s like be who you are showcase that [and] don’t be afraid of it is really cool… some parents are actually afraid of knowing who their kids are and my mom knows exactly who I am.”
