Miley Cyrus Battling Strep Throat On Tour

Miley Cyrus has run into some tour trouble – strep throat.

“Strep is the worst thing ever,” she Tweeted on Tuesday, two weeks into her “Wonder World” tour.

The star had to leave the stage at her Salt Lake City show on Tuesday night during a performance of “7 Things,” according to the Salt Lake Tribune, reportedly receiving medical attention before returning to the stage after 15 minutes and completing the 70-minute performance.

Though the star tried to rest up afterward, she Tweeted that she had trouble sleeping.

“It’s 1:30 in the morning and I still can’t sleep,” she Tweeted early Wednesday morning.

While Miley Tweeted she was still feeling sick after a night’s rest, father Billy Ray Cyrus helped prove laughter is the best medicine on Wednesday, donning a blond wig and a hospital mask to cheer her up, a moment she captured with a Twitpic.

“These are the times that my daddy REALLY comes in handy. He made me smile through the worst pain I’ve ever felt,” she Tweeted.

Miley wasn’t the only young singer to fall ill during a concert this week. Rock act Paramore – who, coincidentally, Miley Tweeted about “jamming to” on Tuesday – had to play a portion of the first show of its national tour without 20-year-old singer Hayley Williams, who left the stage after losing her voice some 40 minutes into the set, according to Spin Magazine.
