The Wu Tang Clan’s RZA stars in — and directed — the upcoming “The Man with the Iron Fists,” and co-star Lucy Liu said he did an amazing job.
“Working with RZA was fantastic,” Lucy told AccessHollywood.com at Comic-Con 2012 in San Diego, referring to the film, which RZA co-wrote with producer Eli Roth (and is billed as “presented by Quentin Tarantino”). “We shot that in China, so there were a lot of wonderful experiences. It was an adventure.”
Lucy said the film – which is full of martial arts – is going to impress.
“There’s some action going on in that movie, which is going to be exciting,” she noted.
“The Man with the Iron Fists” is being described as having a hip-hop flavor, combined with martial arts and inspiration from Quentin, and also stars Jamie Chung (“The Hangover 2”) and Russell Crowe.
“Everybody on the crew and cast was wonderful. I’m looking forward to having people see it because I think the audiences will enjoy it,” Lucy said.
In the trailer, Lucy certainly looks like the bad girl of the movie. (Click HERE to watch the clip.)
“Not in my mind,” she said of her character, Madame Blossom. “I think that she is somebody, I mean, when you watch the movie, you’ll see that she’s actually doing something — if she didn’t do what she does, which is step up and defend herself, all of her ladies would have been destroyed that same night.”
“The Man with the Iron Fists” hits theaters on November 2, 2012.
