Lisa Marie Presley gave birth to twin girls on Tuesday, People reported.
“The babies and mom are happy and healthy and resting at home,” a rep for the singer told the mag.
The twins were reportedly delivered by C-section at 2:46 PM, weighing in at 5 lbs., 15 oz. and 5 lbs., 2 oz., respectively.
They were the first children for Lisa Marie and husband Michael Lockwood, who married in January 2006. The singer has two children from a previous marriage, Benjamin, 15, and Riley, 18.
She announced her pregnancy on her MySpace in March, writing, “I am in fact pregnant,” and criticizing the media’s “slanderous and degrading” speculation.
According to reports, the singer sued the U.K.‘s Daily Mail in March after the paper published unflattering photos of her and suggested she had an unhealthy appetite.
“I have had to show my cards and announce under the gun and under vicious personal attack,” she wrote at the time. “Now that things are confirmed, hopefully they can stop all of the harassment and I can stop dodging the continuous bullets.”
