Kevin Hart just landed a monumental new gig!
In a Tuesday night Instagram post, the “Night School” actor announced that he will host the 2019 Academy Awards – a role he’s had his sights set on for a long time.
“For years, I have been asked if I would ever host the Oscars, and my answer was always the same,” he began. “I said that it would be the opportunity of a lifetime for me as a comedian and that it will happen when it’s [supposed] to.”
“I am so happy to say that the day has finally come for me to host the Oscars,” he then revealed.
The funnyman admitted he was “blown away” by his accomplishment, considering how long the highly-coveted job (previously held by Billy Crystal, Whoopi Goldberg, Johnny Carson and many other comedy legends) had “been a goal on [his] list.”

“To be able to join the legendary list of [hosts] that have graced the stage is unbelievable,” he added. “I know my mom is smiling from ear to ear right now.”
