Justin Timberlake On Working With Clint Eastwood: We Sang D*** In A Box On Set

Clint Eastwood can send a shiver down the spine of audiences with just one squint of his 82-year-old eyes, but his “Trouble with the Curve” co-star Justin Timberlake says Clint’s oft-intimidating persona is all an act.

“What’s funny is Clint is so good at that character [that] everyone sort of thinks that he’s really like that — but he’s really not,” Justin told Access Hollywood at the “Trouble with the Curve” premiere in Los Angeles on Wednesday. “He’s actually really charming and he’s a really funny guy.”

Justin hinted that Clint even joined in a few bars of JT’s famed Emmy-winning “Saturday Night Live” song, “D*** in a Box” during their downtime while filming.

“Yeah, we may or may not have sung ‘D in a B’ together on set — I’m just saying,” he told Access with a sly smile, jokingly adding that he couldn’t divulge the contents of his and Clint’s jam sessions due to a “legal obligation.”

“What’s part of the process is part of the process,” he added, with a laugh.

Clint and Justin were already acquainted prior to their collaboration on the upcoming baseball-themed movie, and JT said he was honored to get the opportunity to work with the award-winning star.

“I had met Clint prior due to our [shared] obsession with golf, so I had played in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am and you know, Clint used to be the mayor up there,” he explained, referencing the iconic actor/director’s run as mayor of Carmel, Calif. “He still is the mayor. He’s like the mayor of the world!”

Adding, “So yeah, we had met prior to [the film] so this was a lot of fun. It was a lot of fun to really get a chance to work with such a legend.”

As for Clint, he too enjoyed working with Justin, who he said he’s known since JT’s *NSYNC days.

“[Justin] is a good kid, he’s a good guy,” Clint said.

“Trouble with the Curve,” which also stars John Goodman and Amy Adams, hits theaters on Friday.
