Six-time Grammy Award winner John Legend announced plans today for a major U.S. tour set for this summer beginning on June 27 and running through Labor Day.
Legend will hit the road to promote “Evolver,” his first full-length studio album in over two years. The album debuted at number four on the Billboard Top 200 album charts late last year and shot to number one on several other music charts.
“Evolver” is packed with some of music’s leading players including Kanye West, Estelle, OutKast’s Andre 3000 and R&B singer Brandy.
And Legend won’t be the only “legend” taking the stage—Grammy-winner singer and songwriter India Arie is slated to open select shows on the tour.
Legend is also teaming up with non-profit environmental agency REVERB to ensure his future tour is “green.” REVERB will help Legend work with venues to ensure the use of green products and practice and will offer eco-friendly merchandise.
