Joe Manganiello’s mom Susan isn’t losing her son to Sofia Vergara, she’s gaining a daughter-in-law.
Susan recently approved of her Joe’s choice in a wife-to-be when she spoke to the local CBS affiliate in the family’s hometown of Pittsburgh, Penn.
“Sofia Vergara is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met and she again has no expectations whatsoever. She’s just very nice to everybody,” Susan said in the news station’s profile of the actor.

Besides receiving his mom’s blessing (and getting engaged to one of the hottest women in Hollywood), Joe has another reason to celebrate.
Fox announced at Saturday’s TCA’s that Joe’s been cast to star alongside Lea Michele, Abigail Breslin and Keke Palmer in the comedy-horror anthology series “Scream Queens.” They’ll join Jamie Lee Curtis and Emma Roberts in the new series from “Glee” creators Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan.

Ariana Grande has landed a recurring guest-star role.
The first installment in the series is about a college campus shaken up by a string of murders. It’s set to premiere in fall 2015 on Fox.
