Despite her recent split with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, Jessica Simpson says she’s enjoying the single life – and it’s helping her creatively.
“I’m enjoying being single and I’m enjoying getting to know about myself without anybody else’s opinions,” Jessica told Access Hollywood Tuesday night at the 16th Annual QVC Presents FFANY Shoes On Sale event, which benefited breast cancer research and education, held at Lincoln Center in NYC.
“When I look at myself in the mirror, it’s just me and Jessica and it’s just my reflection,” she continued. “And if I can see through what everybody else is saying, I think that’s when I can be the strongest.”
The 29-year-old explained that this new chapter in her life has been very inspiring, both personally and professionally
“No matter what anyone says, I’m actually going through the most creative moment in my life,” she told Access. “I think a lot of times when we allow ourselves to do our own homework and just look inside we can discover so much — so much that we have to give to the world and the people around us, but more importantly what we have to give to ourselves.”
And though she’s enjoying life as single lady – Jessica told People, she’s open to the idea of dating again – and would even consider using the Internet.
“I have to say I’ve never tried finding love online…I mean, anybody who can find love online, so be it,” she told the mag.
But will she be logging on looking for love herself?
“Maybe,” she added. “Who knows?”
