Jennifer Hudson has undergone a complete body transformation, and the Grammy Award-winning singer revealed her slim-down secrets to Access Hollywood as we joined her exclusively on the set of her new Weight Watchers commercial.
“It’s not about the pounds and all those things,” Jennifer told Access on Wednesday. “I come from a place where we like some kind of meat on our bones — that’s what we call it — so I want to make sure I keep the curves.”
The former “American Idol” contestant has reportedly gone from a size 16 to a size 6, and is looking so lean, it begs the question — how much weight has she lost?
“I’m not going to tell you that,” she laughed.
The glowing new mom is helping Weight Watchers launch their third annual “Lose for Good” campaign to teach children how to be healthy — including her 1-year-old son David Jr.
“He is all over the place, getting into everything,” the 29-year-old said of her child with fiance David Otunga. “He’s just having a good time being one.”
“He’s the sweetest baby in the whole world and I’m going to miss him being a baby,” she continued. “I want to cuddle with him, and he’s already — I gotta catch him to kiss him, you know?”
Jennifer, who won an Academy Award for her performance in 2006’s “Dreamgirls,” has spent the last four months in South Africa shooting her new film, “Winnie,” where she plays Nelson Mandela’s then wife.
“Oh my gosh, such an honor,” she said, of portraying the Nobel Peace Prize winner’s former spouse. “It wasn’t easy, but I had an amazing time. It was such a learning experience.”
Now that she’s back in the States, the singer is enjoying motherhood, and ironing out the final details of her wedding plans with David.
“Everything is ready to go,” Jennifer told Access. “I’m just getting back from Africa and we’re picking up where we left off.”
