Jennie Garth On ‘Melrose Place’ Remake: ‘I Don’t Want To Do It’

Jennie Garth’s “90210” character may have served as the bridge between her show and it’s older counterpart, “Melrose Place,” back in the day, but the actress wants no part of the new CW remake in 2008.

Jennie’s Kelly Taylor character introduced fans to motorcycle-riding rebel Jake Hanson, played by Grant Show, on the original “90210,” which lead to the spin-off “Melrose Place,” but the actress told E!‘s Michael Yo that fans should not expect to see her on the other side of Robertson Blvd on the “Melrose” remake.

“No. I… no,” Jennie told E! when asked if Kelly Taylor would be showing up on the remake. “I think they should keep it separate. And no, I don’t want to do it.”

“Melrose” alum Kelly Rutherford was the first former Spelling-protégé to comment on the remake, on Wednesday.

She might not be interested in returning to the drama-filled Spanish-style apartment complex, but it appears she’s excited about the show’s possible return.

“I just heard that today on set,” she said. “And I was like, ‘What?!?’ It just makes me laugh. They’re doing that one, too! I love it!”
