James McAvoy Shaves Head For ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’

James McAvoy is transforming into Charles Xavier once again – and this time, he’s one step closer to matching Patrick Stewart’s likeness.

After portraying Professor X in his younger, more hair-plentiful days in two movies (while Patrick has played the older version), it seems we’ll finally see James as the bald telepathic mutant in the next installment of the X-Men story, “Apocalypse.”

Director Bryan Singer posted a photo of the Scottish star getting his head shaved on Friday night, with the caption, “#Xavier reborn (in process) #jamesmcavoy #XMEN #XMenApocalypse @xmenmovies”

“X-Men: Apocalypse” will be set in the ’80s and feature many new mutants, including Psylocke (Olivia Munn) and Jubilee (Lana Condor).

The film hits theaters on May 27, 2016.
