‘Into The Woods’ Star Anna Kendrick Defends ‘Peter Pan’ Tweets

Anna Kendrick’s fingers got a good workout last Thursday as they danced across the keyboard while she live Tweeted her reactions to NBC’s “Peter Pan Live!”

In a series of humorous and witty Tweets, the actress was one of many celebrities and viewers to add commentary as the live musical played out on televisions across America.

“Dog is already the only character I care about #PeterPanLive,” she said in one post.

“Tinkerbell sounds just like the iPhone alarm and these kids are still asleep? I don’t buy it. #PeterPanLive,” Anna commented further.

“Never noticed how bondage themed Peter Pan’s outfits are #NotComplaining #PeterPanLive,” she snarked.

At Monday night’s “Into the Woods” premiere in New York City, Anna defended her choice of words.

“I know I try to just be funny and…I’m trying not to be mean. There’s no point in being mean spirited,” she told Access Hollywood. “It’s mostly funny to take on the themes of that show.

“It’s so funny and crazy, so I think. It’s the same thing with ‘Sound of Music.’ I was like this show is crazy! That’s the fun part to talk about,” she continued.

Besides “Into the Woods,” out Christmas Day, Anna will be singing in two more upcoming films, “Pitch Perfect 2” and “The Last 5 Years.” But, it looks like the actress will be going on vocal rest soon.

“I’ve gotta take a break. People are going to start hating me [if] they hear my voice one more time I swear, it’s going to be riots in the street,” she said of the prospect of signing on for yet another musical.
