Healthy Hollywood: Wellness Wednesday – Get What You Want In 2013!

Happy 2013! It’s a New Year and for many of us that means making a slew of new promises. Lose 10 pounds! No more red meat! Be nicer to your mate! Find a new job!

This year, Healthy Hollywood has decided to make my resolution more obtainable and hopefully lead to more happiness.

Every morning, I promised myself to repeat first thing in the morning a simple mantra, “I surrender my fears and I am willing to change!” Instead of trying to conquer the way too ambitious goals of losing 7 pounds in 7 days or running a half marathon, I will be kinder to myself and simply try to believe more in my worth and that the biggest roadblock to success is simply not believing I can!

Or, as my new favorite motivator, and author of the new book May Cause Miracles, Gabrielle Bernstein, reveals see obstacles as opportunities. A good way to achieve what you want in 2013 is to make small subtle shifts and create a visionary board. This board will be a collage of pictures, sayings and images of what you want to make happen in your life. Every morning (or when need a boost of inspiration) take a look at the board and remember what you’re striving for.

For me, it’s plastering the board with reminders to get going on the book I’ve been promising myself to write for the last year. And, the only reason I haven’t started it is fear — not a lack of time as I told myself all through 2012.

Gabrielle, who I was honored to meet and book this morning on Access Hollywood Live, shared with me 4 simple tips to making your New Year’s resolution stick!

1. You’ve got to want it.

2. Practice the F word (forgiveness).

3. Gratitude is the attitude.

4. Daily repetition.

May all of us have the strength to make our dreams come true in 2013!
