For more than a decade, Montel Williams has lived with multiple sclerosis. Instead of letting the illness destroy his spirit and body, Montel has miraculously avoided many of its crippling effects.
Thanks to a remedy of positive thinking and healthy living.
“Eating right and exercise are a critical part of my arsenal in fighting my MS,” reveals Montel to Healthy Hollywood.
The Emmy-award winning talk show host eliminated junk and processed food and tries to eat as many colorful fruit and veggies.
“Try to reduce the amount of man-made garbage that you put in your body. And guess what? You’ll start feeling better and you’ll be surprised at how amazing some of the changes that take place in your body [will be].”
Besides his own well-being, Montel is on a mission to help the rest of us live a healthier/more energized life. One of his favorite wellness tips is to have a green smoothie first thing in the morning. “Smoothies are the perfect way to start my day because they have all the vital nutrients my body needs in a blended, easy to digest form. There’s also an endless variety, I can throw in different fruits and vegetables depending on the season, or what I’m feeling like drinking at the time,” Williams adds to Healthy Hollywood.
Smoothies are not only tasty and convenient, but they’re packed with good-for-you nutrients. “My smoothies always pack a ton of antioxidants to help me get up and moving in the morning. I try to incorporate spinach as often as possible; it’s packed with antioxidant nutrients such as Vitamin C, E, beta-carotene, and the antioxidant zinc and selenium.” He also adds SafSlim to his smoothies, which is an all-natural product that uses safflower oil to help reduce belly fat.
